About LINDA WINN

I’m an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) with more than 20 years of experience working in both public and private health settings. I’ve worked with children, teenagers, and adults who have eating disorders  and feeding difficulties, in both hospital and outpatient settings.

I’m passionate about helping people and their families navigate the healthcare system, with a focus on improving nutrition and overall well-being in a way that considers the whole person. I know how hard it can be for families and individuals to nourish themselves, and I’m here to guide them toward better nutrition and a healthier relationship with food.

In 2004, I completed a Bachelor of Health Science  (Nutrition & Dietetics) at Queensland University of Technology. I spent my first 10 years at the Mater Children’s Hospital (now Queensland Children’s Hospital), where I worked in areas like cardiology, oncology, cystic fibrosis, and outpatient feeding therapies. I’ve also been involved in research, including the K.O.A.L.A lifestyle  intervention study and the ‘NOURISH’ trial, which focused on positive feeding practices.

For  the past 10 years, I’ve worked with NSW Health, gaining more experience  with eating disorders in a variety of settings, such as medical wards, mental health units, and private practice.

I’m currently the Eating  Disorder Coordinator for the Mid-North Coast, a role I’ve had since  March 2020. This position gives me a deep understanding of eating disorders, as I work at every stage of the journey—from prevention to treatment. I also help develop and train the healthcare workforce to better support people with eating disorders.

I spent a year as a senior dietitian at the InsideOut Institute, which is  Australia’s leading research and clinical center for eating disorders. There, I helped develop training for clinicians in Australia and internationally, and worked on state-wide projects to improve the care of people with eating disorders.

I truly enjoy working with my clients and their families. I take a practical, compassionate and non-judgmental approach, and I’m committed to sharing my knowledge  and experience to help them not just survive, but thrive.
